What I’m doing for Macworld…

OK. So I’m really excited for Macworld, right? Yep, I am. So I figure you may want to know what I’m going to do for Macworld.

  • Heh, I have to go to school…
  • When I get home, I will get the handy dandy NetNewsWire open, and just so you know, I will declare Twitter bankruptcy, except for direct messages and @replies. So I will open apple.com, check to see what’s on the front page, and download the keynote from the podcast feed in iTunes. RSS will be crazy, but I will skim all articles.
  • I will watch the keynote as soon as I can get around to it, so I can cover it on this podcast and Tech Talk.
  • Tech Talk will be recorded live on ustream.tv, 7-8 PM EST, on Friday, January 18, 2008.
  • I will record and edit Bite of Apple as soon as I can, and again I’m really excited about Macworld.
    • So that’s it for now, and I look forward to recording Bite of Apple!

New Mac Pro?

Well, I think Apple gave us a little surprise before Macworld…A new Mac Pro. As with the previous Mac Pro, there’s one base configuration which you can add on to. However, the new models are all eight-core, which makes me think that there will be a Mac with either 2 or 4 cores released at Macworld. This is exactly what I think we needed before…the return of the Cube? Let me know what you think by leaving a comment.

My Future Production Workflow

Posted December 27, 2007 by John Grinde

I figured out how my production workflow will go:

  • Record in GarageBand on Mac and Audacity on Windows
  • If necessary, import audio into GarageBand. Assemble (add theme music and cuts) the podcast in GarageBand.
  • Export the audio out of GarageBand as an AIFF with the Send Song to iTunes command. Import that audio into Audacity and set the compression threshold to 0dB and the Normalize to 0dB after compressing box checked. I will then save out the file as an AIFF and add that to iTunes for tagging and MP3 compression.

Right now I currently co-host the podcast Tech Talk, with my friend Joey Leweck. I’m sort of wishing I had another Apple specific podcast, so here it is. It’s called Bite of Apple. I plan to cover Apple news with a short format much like Apple Universe. Send me tips and suggestions here.

Also, if you want to send me a theme song or a logo, just send me feedback here, or comment on this post.
